Update on Me & my appendix

Hello Everyone.....

As they say when it rains, it pours. This will be a surprise for many of

you. Once the fire hit the pan, I was in Gods hands and didn't have access to

phone numbers.

For the few of you who already know this..... Thanks for all the phone

calls, notes and prayers. A few of you went above and beyond the call of duty.

I THANK GOD FOR FRIENDS.

It was a long 5 days. 4 days of nothing to eat and tests. Finally they

figured out what it was. I will explain in a paragraph or 2. But I am

fortunate the last test (friday evening) was done by a " sharp " doctor and he

caught it on film by chance. Finally an answer. I told I wanted him to

hire me doctor " HOUSE " . LOL Someone else said they were going to kidnap me

and take me to the local vet. LOL

Okay here we go. What I have is rare and only happens 10% of the time.

My answer was, that's ME. I get everything unique. But then again that's what

makes me so special.... Right???

Everyones bodies form cysts. Mine formed one that usually attaches itself

to the left side of a stomach. Well mine went to the right and attached itself

to the junction of my appendix and bowel. Which caused my first attack and trip

to the ER on Jan 2nd. Seeing it should not have been where it was, the cyst

became infected.... causing worse pain. As the infection grew, so did the

cyst. Smothering the appendix and pinching nerves on my bowel. Thus causing me

to have appendicitis attacks 24/7 for 10 days!!!! The attacks would get worse

the more I moved around. Which finally doubled me over on the 8th. The 9th I

finally went to the hospital and they admitted me.

I won't tell every detail, but for four days they had no clue what to do

with me. Evey test before the 9th showed nothing and the in hosptial tests

still showed nothing. I had 5 different doctors and 5 diagnoses. They did

not want to rush into anything and had to be cautious due to my (fragile) liver

disease. I was also lucky on one of my doctor office visits (the 5th), they put

me on 2 heavy antibiotics thinking I had an infection in my bowel. That helped

the infection this cysts was creating. Without the antibiotics, I would have

been in major trouble.

As they told me I am lucky that the cyst attached to a non vital organ.

So, if it doesn't resolve and heal itself, I will have to have surgery to have

it and my appendix removed. the only reason they have rushed to do that either

it due to the fact that part of the cyst is attached to part of my bowel. And

seeing I am in the middle of moving and do not want to be laid up for 6-8 weeks,

I am willing to try this week of rest.

The hardest part for me was . He was brave, but after a couple days he

wanted them " to figure it out and fix me. " After everything we went thru with

my Mom and we are still grieving, I know he was worried about losing me too.

Once they figured it out, he became my couch and rooted me on to accomplish

stuff, so I " COULD COME HOME " .

I got to come home Sunday afternoon. And it felt great to be in my own

bed. They sent me home with strict instructions to take it easy, rest and let

my body heal this thing up. The appendix pain is constantly there. Coming and

going in waves of levels. And will be until it heals. They say It will go

away as fast as it came.

I am off all this week. I can go back to work on the 19th, " IF " I feel

better. If I do not feel better in a week, I have to call & see the surgeons

again and I may have to have surgery afterall.

and I were ready and made a start at moving into my Mom's house around

Dec 30th. We painted his room over there to personalize it a bit. Then bang

this happened. I have until March 1st to be out of my apartment. So, we have

time. Seeing this happened to me at a very bad time, I have concluded that God

told me that I need to slow down. And seeing he knocked me on my butt, I have

no choice but to listen. LOL
