" Vol. 13 This is indeed a goodie! To amplify on this, a cross-section of a tree contains the " growth rings " we all learn about as children, so we come full circle to another mandala. Growth rings contain at the center a single point, the naissance of the tree. Each ring is another circumambulation of the Ego about the Ego-Self axis. > if u take an equilateral cross n spin it u will generate a potential sphere - > as with the Golden Rectangle once u add life to a geometric figure the magic > of spiritual implication is released. And the " adding life " , the spinning, demonstrates the *process* or *verb* nature of an archetype. Similarly, the Golden Spiral has no meaning without the idea of " growing " involved, growth without change in shape, another symbol of the Self... So why don't trees exhibit the Golden Spiral property? Because they grow from the tip of the tree, not the root. If you drive a nail into a tree trunk, ten years later it will be in the same place, it doesn't move up the tree. Conversely, fingernails, ram horns, nautilus shells, etc. all grow in a GS pattern because they grow from the " root " . Anyone see any spiritual meanings from this? > " God geometrizes. " And we philosophizes Thanks for the goodie Alice. I've never known you to pen a baddie. --Kurt
