Re: An Update

I had asked to have all the blood tests done the last time they did routine

blood work on me. I of course didn't get the results until after my computer

burned up. But, yesterday my daughter ran the results through the Mayo

Clinic calculator. I came out at 16. So, it is nice to know where I stand

even though I am not being considered for the transplant list. I just

bought a used computer for $25.00 here at the library which I will use until

I can buy a new one at the end of the month, so hopefully, I will be back

online sometime tomorrow. Jan H

I understand what you are saying. The MELD is a pretty accurate scale as to how

sick your liver is at any givin time. It has it's limitations, as in bleeding

varicies, and encephalopathy, hepatic coma, hepatoma, and such, but it's a very

cool invention.

I have been trying to find out what the range is of people who are

transplanted. I haven't been able to find it online. Can you people

here tell me what you are aware of? I had no idea where I would come

out, and wouldn't have been surprised to find it was in the single

digits. I am not feeling that great, but do not appear to have

varices, jaundice, a large amount of acites. I have been wondering if

I could have been having trouble with my liver for 30 years and just

didn't really show any symptoms. I am 100% Norwegian, and yet my

complexion is more on the yellow side than I friend I went to college

with 20 years ago, and she was 100% Japanese. I have always bruised

easily, and itched a lot for a long time. While my energy level has

certainly taken a nose dive, I don't remember having a high level of

energy.

This computer I am now online with is a dinosaur. It has about 12 gb

of hard drive, operates on Windows 98, and has only 98 mb of ram. I

had to download an old version of aim to be able to chat there. I

haven't tried downloading any of my programs yet, such as WordPerfect

and Word, so will be interesting to see what happens when/if I do try.

No weather, but thankfully, it did come with a working McAfee. The

time isn't working right either, about 20 minutes slow, so was late

getting to Bible Study tonight when I thought I had left early. But,

it is great to have it until I can get a new one in three weeks or so.

Paid $25.00 for it at the library, one they were getting rid of to

raise money for the new Children's Library. Even my gmail page looks

different. Jan H
