RE: donor complications bill

if the donor was in inpatient, the UB92 you receive should already be

allowanced down to the DRG just make sure the diagnosis code is for living

donor complications. If it's an outpatient bill, on the Medicare website lists

the rates for all the states individually. I usually only reimburse at our rate

and I've never had a complaint.

Hi All,

Help! I am receiving large bills for a post kidney donor who was

hospitalized for pulmonary embolism in Missouri three weeks after

donation. Should these bills be paid at the Medicare allowable rate and

how do I find out what that is?

Thanks for your helpful response. Could you please send the Medicare

website states link? I couldn't find it on the medicare.gov site.
