Guest guest
You poor thing. I know what you are going through. Although regular noises did not effect me, it was mostly gum chewing, popping and heavy breathers who effected me. It seemed though that every class I had one and it madeit impossible for me to concentrate. Today I use ear plugs a lot. They are not perfect, but for a lot of noises it helps. Nothing seems to stopthe distraction of the popping though. I used to always ask my teachers to ask them to stop. Some would, but they would just start right back up.. I wish I had this documentation back then. What you might try doing is showing your teachers these sites and see if they could allow head phones or ear plugs... head phones would be more cool, except that they can distract too... > > Hi, my name is and I'm 14 years old. Guest guest
I'm a college student with SSS. What I do, is I will wear earplugs during tests. I notice that when I'm stressed about a test, the SSSS seems worse. Hope this helps. > > Thanks for the advice. Parent teacher conferences is coming up so hopefully my mom can talk to my teachers. I just feel so helpless right now. I mean at home if my parents are breathing/eating/yawning/talking to loud.. I can go to my room or turn the music up really loud, but at school.. there's no escaping the sound. Yesterday I was taking a test and the girls behind me were talking, and I asked them to stop. " Can't you take a test when someone is talking? " One girl asked. They laughed at me because I got so upset about it. I keep trying to tell my parents, but I don't think they understand how much this is affecting me. I apologize for the vent. I'm just feeling really upset. > Thanks again for your help, > > >
