Holidays a time to think

I'm back home again. The 50th wedding anniversary for my in-laws went

well. The two days at the resort with just some of our children was

much more relaxing. Being home means back to housecleaning, etc.

The holidays have proven to be a time of thinking for me. I wonder if

it isn't that way for others, too. It's a time to compare life today

with past years. That can end up making us " Blue " or can make us

positive about our future. At the moment I'm confused about what the

future holds in terms of an occupation for me. Opportunities here in

Southwest Virginia are extremely limited in any area I would seek

employment based on my education and training background. I finally

sent my first manuscript off for possible publication. We'll hear back

from the publisher in five to seven weeks. Work on other manuscripts

has slowed down for various reasons. I'll have to disconnect the phone

in order to get anything done on them; too many interruptions.

Pain is still at very low levels compared with last summer and fall.

Fatigue is greater than it ever has been. Thought it might be

medications, so stopped everything that might cause fatigue. It didn't

change anything. I've slept as much as 18 hours a day recently without

any medication. When the pain was so high last summer/fall even if I

took Ambien I got only 2-4 hours of sleep. Sure has been a switch.

I'll use this next week, not to make resolutions that I never keep, but

to think about what I can do to give myself a more positive future.

hope everyone has had a pleasant holiday.
