Guest guest
Hello, keenstop> Kathy, my name is Bonnie,, my mother is 90 yrd old & just recently dx. w/celiac.. I have her on a glutin free diet and the meds. are:acidophilus, which can be bought over counter,,it helps promote healthy intestines,) the imotol,,creon, is a script. It was really, really bad for a while...she was in nursing home ffor a month. Brought her home,,keep on diet & meds...and has been doing ok. But if she gets any glutin,,in her it will desrtroy,,the villa inside the intestines and will have to star over. Yes it does take months to get under control,, & takes longer in older people. With the celiac ,in the begining,it was costant diarhhia,,i'm talking BIG time!! she'd go sometimes 6-7 times a day,,,it would run down her legs. If I can be of any help,,just e-mail me personally. So we go back on 4/21 and I will keep you posted when she starts taking it.Also, I know one person was taking Imipramine and had not gotten relief after 2 weeks. Have you heard how she is doing now? I think it was .Also, I was wondering if anyone has ever had a blood test for Ciliac Disease which is a gluten intolerance (wheat). My father-in-law has it and it causes gastrointestinal problems in him. However, it can also manifest itself as neurological problems. I think I might have them test Becca for this...might as well take as many shots in the dark that I can...I might hit something. I took her off gluten for 4 days with no change, but then found out that the effects of Ciliac can last for months. I'll let you know if I find out anything.Kathy Howe
Guest guest
Hi, sorry I haven't posted in a while. I just read your post from a while ago. I'd say the Imapramine has helped, but not completely eliminated the problem. Several years ago I went to a neurotherapist who used sound therapy. He also did brain mapping. According to his brain map the first time, I did have an auditory problem. The second one showed it was gone, but it didn't feel gone. He said what was left was psychological. I thought he was wrong at first and just needed more research. I'm starting to think he was right. Part of the reason I react to sounds is I'm so used to. I'm wondering if it really is just a habit now. Anyways, the Imapramine has helped me a lot more with the depression from this. > > keenstop wrote: > I have responded to several postings, but just realized none of them > had posted because my " email was bouncing " which I don't know what > that means. > > I wanted to tell Marsha that I haven't started Becca on > Nortriptyline yet because we had to get an MRI first. Guest guest
You feel it's helped with the depression, but you still have the SSSS? I'm glad you feel it's better. Keep us posted if you notice the SSSS going completely away. Thanks so much-- Kathy Howe Re: Nortriptyline, Imipramine, and Ciliac Disease Hi, sorry I haven't posted in a while.
