Guest guest
A bit of a rant to let off steam today! Just had new neighbours move into the flat (apartment) upstairs from me a few weeks ago. Problem is that they work shifts and every other week have to get up at 3.30 in the morning - turning on their TV which is in a room directly above my bedroom. So I get woken up every day in alternate weeks at some unearthly hour. I went to them to have a word about it a couple of weeks ago and as I started to try to explain the situation their immediate response was 'No English'. How do you explain something as unusual as SSSS to somebody when they don't even speak the same language!! I have managed to get them to avoid using the television at such times, but - whilst trying not to sound racist - I have found that it is a trait common to a lot of eastern Europeans that they are more vocal than us Brits and tend to talk a lot louder, so the problem remains to a large degree. I can only hope that the house purchase I am currently following through goes through quickly. Sorry for the rant.
Guest guest
you can rant anytime and I am so glad that you are considering a house purchase. Sometimes that is the only answer. We, too, have been looking for a new house given " too close for comfort " neighbors but fortunately we have a single family home and are instituting things such as soundroof window inserts, etc. as that is our problem here. Until we find something. Good luck with the impending purchase, you will be much happier. I understand! Jane
