The talk, which will be held in UCD on the 20th of September, is being organised by Irish organic dairy company Glenisk, and will focus on the role and future of organic food and the environment. Brockovich, who was the subject of an -winning film in which she was portrayed by actress , has been renowned for her campaigns on environmental issues since she secured $333 million in damages for Californian residents who had been exposed to toxic waste from a local power station. " We are delighted to welcome Brockovich to Dublin for what we now well be an engaging, thought-provoking and entertaining event, " said Cleary, Glenisk managing director. " At Glenisk, we share Ms Brockovich's passion for environmental activism and we admire her commitment to pursuing justice for others. " The event is open to the public and tickets can be purchased from Ticketmaster. All proceeds are being donated to the GM-free Ireland Network; an NGO which campaigns to keep genetically modified organisms out of the Irish market.
