Hi Tess, Well, I'm no expert on typologies but whenever I take this test my feeling/thinking function is also very close, although I always come out ENFP. I just assume it means there is a healthy balance, that my thinking function is the inferior one, but not terrible much so. I just prefer to " grok 'things rather than carry around a whole lot of facts and spend my time organizing them....I'm happy to know where I put them should I need them :-) Anyway, most people appreciate us feeling types even in the Board room and the universities. I had ten people at my Doctoral Defense sitting around crying because what I wrote was moving and personal in addition to being sufficiently intellectually rigorous..or so they said :-) Not sure how I pulled that off but thinking, all by itself, isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Us feeling types add a little badly needed depth and purpose in most situations. Love, Suzanne
Guest guest
Dear Tess, It's always been my understanding, a balance between the functions, is what are are striving for. The balance is expected as part of the individuation process. Maybe others are able to shed more light on this concept. I am an ENFP yet my N and my S run a close count. Over the years I have gone back and forth all the while the gap dwindles between the two. Now when it comes to thinking, well someone else must do this one for me. :-) I'm hardly analytical which may very well explain my " silence " at times on this list. I am quite able to express feelings about situations and events in my life. You all know this!!! This is one reason I could say I understood and agreed with MrMutt the other day but to engage in conversing about his presentation well, I'll bow out and allow the rest of you to explain things. When Cov writes concerning all he " senses, " what he sees, what he hears, what he touches, what he smells....I understand completely! This is one reason I enjoy his " stories " concerning his little excursions and descriptions of the pleasures of his wine tasting experiences. merry
