Guest guest
Hi, Fire Folk! I've been back from Turkey for a while, now, but have been incommunicado due to my computer crashing. Guess it just couldn't handle the 388 emails that piled up during the month I was gone. Mike: No chance of touching down in France. Instead, I went over you at 900 mph. Alice: How I wish I had received your email about the Hagia Sophia before I left. I did visit it, but did not know of the lavabo/ font--- so didn't ask to see it. I have since seen the sketch of it in " Dove. " The feelings invoked by the Hagia Sophia just can't be put into words---at least by me. It is truly numinous. The trip began in Ankara. We then went North to the Black Sea coast, to Sofranbolu, Amasya, and Trabzon. Then southward, along the borders with Iran and Syria, to Lake Van. Then further south along the Mediteranean for a while, even- tually going northward into Cappadocia---surely one of the most amazing regions in the world. Then back to Ankara again, ending with 5 days in Istanbul. Twenty five days in all. It's been difficult trying to fully re-enter my daily routine here in Minnesota, with all my memories of this exotic and mysterious country. I'm glad to be back, though, and back to taking part in Jung-Fire. Northern Exposure, anyone? Is the idea of taping the Saturday shows---just one show a week----catching on? Sara, how do things stand? Fondly, Trish
