In a list of Gerinnung/Differentialblutbild I find the following, with

Stabkernige* and Segmentkernige* asterisked:

Stabkernige*

Segmentkernige*

Eosinophile Granulozyten...

* neutrophile Granulozyten

What is the best way to translate these terms in this list? My dictionary

lists for Stabkernige: Schilling's band cells, stab cells, staff cells,

stab neutrophils, and a bunch more. The same profusion of translations for

Segmentkernige. Are all these things the same??? How are the terms usually

handled?

Hello Ken,

I would use band or stab neutrophils (or simply bands/stabs) for

Stabkernige and segmented neutrophils (or segmented/segs) for

Segmentkernige.

The former are immature neutrophils.
