Guest guest
My treatment for Hep C (interferon and riba) were stopped about a month ago, six weeks into treatment, due to platelets and white blood counts and just about everything else going below protocol. I just had more blood work done on Thurs and found out that my platelets are starting to come back up. I don't see the Doc until April 3rd, which seems so far out to me. Is this normal procedure, or am I just being given the run around? I have Hep C - genotype 2 with Cirrhosis stage 3. I am hoping that someone can give me some advice here, because all I seem to get through the doc's office is the runaround. I was told if my platelets had started to come up this week, the doc was going to see me and start looking for some clinical trials that I may be able to get into or possibly do a platelet transfusion and take out my spleen. I was just wondering what was normal and what was not. Please help.
