Guest guest
I didn't know we had a chat room and I'm not sure I know what Messanger is. I would probably not be inclined anyway as I'm pretty tied up with a lot in life going on right now and our group here is enough for me, if that helps. Hi, I was just wondering if people here in this group use the chatroom. If so, I would like to have an idea of when people get together for discussion? If people are not, I was wondering if some of you were using messenger instead to communicate. Rich
Guest guest
I would love to schedule regular CHATS. What about Sunday Nights? Maybe check in around 8 pm Central Time, that is 7 to us on the westcoast, 9 for those east coast birds, what do you say? Guest guest
>Jane we are gonna have to get you into the world of the non-Mac people! I have an idea. Go to the local internet cafe or library and get on to Yahoo somehow, get a password, SweetJanie or something and see what this looks like from the 'other side'. Really. I mean it. Cause thee is stuff here to see and do that doesn't come across in a digest-email format. What browser do you use? You need to find out and get Internet Explorer or something cause Mac users can use those, too. Try the library or office internet thingy and get back to me, so we can see how you like the full meal deal. Marsha
Guest guest
Thanks Marsha, I will have my Mr. Techie hubby take a look at this email. As for Mac, we had way too many problems with Windows, we were tearing our hair out, since we got Macs and we have several of them now, the time we spend not with technical support, virus's, etc. has been amazing. Too, I find the Macs are quieter. It was an investment to switch at first but well worth it... Guest guest
Hi, The reason I brought up the chatroom was in other groups, people will go there to " chat " . I have found it to be a good tool to use on the site. All you have to do is click on " Chat " on the left side of the site and it automatically logs you in. As time goes on, it seems many people get to know one another and some will end up using Yahoo Messenger " to chat as it has more capabilities and such. Going to " Chat " is a really great way to get to know people and have questions answered instantly. Marsha's idea about setting up a specific time is great. It is also something that could be added to the " Calendar " on the site. By the way....thanks for coming up with this site :-) It will be of great benefit to many people seeking help and comfort. Guest guest
Jane, what I find about your emails, is that there is no word wrap! They run clear off the page all the way over to next door and I have to move the bar along the bottom of the page to try to read these long strings..........you can ask others, there is another lady here who has the same issue. I think it is something related to your system and I do hope you can try to fix it or see what it is like at another computer at some point. It is only a minor inconvenience. Also, when you hit REPLY, scroll down the text from previous messages and hit delete, that way your message comes through without zillions of other date dangling below. Cleans it up so to speak. Hope this helps. I am not a big tech person really. Marsha
Guest guest
If she cuts out all the long links at the bottom of the page it won't wrap. I looked into this a few days ago and figured out what was going on. Wasn't sure if it would be okay to bring it up. So, all she (and most others) has to do is edit out the links that are at the bottom of the page when she responds, this will cause her emails to wrap normally like most others do. It's actually not a problem with her system, but with the way the Yahoo message boards handle things. The message boards should either force the long URL links to wrap, or it should wrap other text even if it doesn't wrap the long URLs (which is the way my Thunderbird email client does it). anthro_pop wrote: Jane, what I find about your emails, is that there is no word wrap!
