ok got the letter madder than hell!!!! in a nut shell they think my

husband is a drug addict,how dare him, yup i am mad and he will be

fired!!! states quote...urine drug screen is positive for

benzodiazepine metabolites,opiate metablites and acetaminophen. he

also goes on to say,he should avoid the use of any sudating

medications and use of asprin and nsaids?.acetaminophen up to 2000mg

daily should be safe.non-narcotic means of his chronic discomfort

should be emphasized.he has been counseled to avoid operating a motor

vehicle,climbing ladders and other potentially dangerous activity if

his alertness is impaired. huh no he didnt!!!say the sleen tip is not

palpale,the liver edge is palpable.pupils are poorly reactive,spider

angiomata are noted,the sclerae are anicteric,there is trace edema.i

will have to look all this up when i get back with the babies.his

conclusion,should he be successful with abstinece from ILLICIT DRUGS

for more than 6 months[as verified by random testing] then

reconsiderationfor antiviral therapy will be appropraite. given the

probable duration of infection,liver histology,gender, genotype

1a,meld score 7,viral load,his chance for achieving sustained

responce from available antiviral therapy will be -40%,lastely he

says since he has cirrhosis and chronic hep. c a program of

surveillance for hepatocellar carcinoma[isnt that cancer?]is

reccomended,also should be vaccinated against hep. a and b, where as

he has markers for both a and b viruses. ok alot i know,but i dont

think this guy wants to treat him till hes of all meds.? what do you

all think of this, maybe i shouldnt put all this on here but hey ,i

need ya alls opions and your experiences, to figure out, do we need

to find another more reasonable dr.??? or is this guy correct.he also

wrote he counseled us regarding him to be abstinent from alcohol

tobacco and illicit drugs,they understand that his candidacy for

antiviral therapy and for future liver transplant are dependant upon

this... no he didnt he was told no,no,and no to all three of those

questions, doesnt he remember HE let me tape the whole appointment!!!!

i have the whole thing on tape, he never cCOUNSELED us on crap!!
