Guest guest
If a doctor says something like " illicit drugs " in your record, even if another doctor prescribed the drugs, it will KILL your chance for a liver transplant. The records have to be disputed, and a complaint filed. I know of two people on the transplant list who told the doctors or social worker that they drank alcohol, but they were having encephalopathy, it wasn't true, and it came very close to ruining the transplant, because the doctor bought it hook, line and sinker. All medical records should be sought to make sure what the doctors are saying about you. I had a doctor say on the record that I was making up symptoms based on something I read. I had to lodge a complaint and get the record amended. I am here at the university of Colorado getting my records, ct scans, and having one of my records amended. My MELD is back up to 9. At 10 they will put me on the transplant list. These records could harm my chances at a transplant.
