Guest guest
Hans If the document is ANSI accredited and the document is out for public review - should the review be for sale? How many professionals will actually purchase the document and comment if they need to buy it? – as well offer their professional time and ideas resulting in its development. I feel the document will not receive all necessary comments if there is a price on the evaluation. Furthermore does charging for an evaluation and comment fall within ANSI guidelines? Seems like putting a price could be seen or perceived as generating a bias. I thought the public review was the most important aspect of the document’s development. Making it available to all is the means of this process. Charging for the document limits the process. I understand there is a cost in development although a document that is being revised is NOT the official or finial approved document. As well after the document has been approved the organization that developed the document is the only one that will receive the proceeds of the finial draft. I have conducted peer review and still purchase the finial document for the purpose of quoting it in my reports. Most who comment will also purchase a copy after it hits the press. Does this make sense? EnviroBob From: iequality [mailto:iequality ] On Behalf Of Hans Von Sent: Thursday, August 21, 2008 2:13 PM To: jacksonsafety@...
