Guest guest
I switched to 100mg Wellbutrin SR last Friday and started having more side effect. The idea was SR was weaker and by night the effect would go away. I had dried mouth and my vission got worst. And in one case I had panic attack and had to take Ambient to sleep at night. I was more tired at night, but still the side effect was worst. The Dr. suggested to give myself a break for two days and start on half of 100mg. Today is my 3rd day without Wellbutrin. I have less energy than before, which may be a good thing. I can sleep an night. My sex drive seems to be OK and erection seems to be fine. I have not taken any Cialis yet. No sign of depression or anxiety. Perhaps Wellbutrin boost my dopamin level (even too much) and now I am back to normal. (if I can call it normal). I decided not to take Wellbutrin. I am taking my B6, B Complex, E Vitamin and Excercise 1 hour every day now. If that is my cure, I take that over Wellbutrin any day. I am also in the midle of some marital problem with my wife. And not surprising it is over sex. She is not interested in sex which does not help my situation. I am trying to get back to normal and I have to fight all these medication and persistant side effect and on top of that not sure what she wants. So, some of what I am going through is psycological. I will post later on on how I am doing without Wellbutrin. Maybe I try SAM-E or other herbs to boos my libido and erection. Maybe I don't need such a strong medication like Welbutrin anymore. -Steve>> Steve, have you stopped wellbutrin yet? How are you doing in any case? >
Guest guest
It's good to hear things are stable so far, it certainly sounds like wellbutrin isn't for you. I've been thinking about trying it out but the side effects do scare me, especially anxiety and insomnia. Please let us know if this lasting effect continues, as I sincerely hope it does. > > > > Steve, have you stopped wellbutrin yet? Guest guest
I don't want to sound like Wellbutrin was a bad idea. I think in my case it did help me come out of the loop. I am hoping I could stay this way. I don't think I would be here if I did not take Wellbutrin. Perhaps my body was so sensitive to Wellbutrin and most people are not. You may want to give it a try. My wife was on 300mg each day and she was just fine with no insomnia. I have a feeling most of us are suffering from lack of dopamine and perhaps a boost in dopamin is what we need. I am not sure if Wellbutrin, or other drugs like Dostinex, is the answer for every one. -Steve>> It's good to hear things are stable so far, it certainly sounds like > wellbutrin isn't for you. Guest guest
Hi Steve, It really does sound like it helped you " reset " and come out of the loop with a different set point. Great. More and more evidence points to dopamine deficiency or lack of receptor binding/transmission being the root of all this. Guest guest
I used to think wellbutrin didnt fit me becuase it caused to much side effect but recently I believe I found a right dosage for me 50mg. I used to be on 300 mg XL, and than 150mg SR and regular 100mg. It is the only thing that I have tried that has immediate affect, it seems to reverse my agitation to nervousness. (being numb to very being aware of your surroudings)But the thing about wellbutrin is that it only last for a day or two and I would go back to being numb. It doesnt seemed to have permnant affect. Maybe I need to take them a least a year for it to be permanat like SSRI? I have never been on it longer than 2 weeks in my life. I still prefer to recover somehow naturally and I am saving wellbutrin way for the last because wellbutrin only helps partially. Answer I really would like to know is what other damages did zoloft and prozac cause other than dopamine. curious question: Vornan, why cant dopamine agonist or reuptaker change gene expression ? like SSRI did. > > > > > > It's good to hear things are stable so far, it certainly sounds > like > > > wellbutrin isn't for you. Guest guest
I think any psychoactive medication, supplement or drug changes cerebral gene expression. As to why SSRIs are so " good " at changing it persistently I don't know. With some drugs like benzodiazepines and alcohol it seems like you get a rebound phenomenon (i.e. gene expression goes in the *opposite* direction when you come off) rather than a persistent effect (i.e. nicotine, SSRIs) which needs to be sudied and explained . But regardless, it could be, as you say, that you would need to be on a dopaminergic for a longer period of time for it to be persistent. > curious question: Vornan, why cant dopamine agonist or reuptaker > change gene expression ? like SSRI did. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > It's good to hear things are stable so far, it certainly > sounds > > like > > > > wellbutrin isn't for you. Guest guest
Steve, I was wondering if you had been having problems with emotional flatness and if wellbutrin changed that in any way. > > > > > > It's good to hear things are stable so far, it certainly sounds > like > > > wellbutrin isn't for you. Guest guest
Emotional Flatness !!?? I think in my case I was mostly depressed and sad over my situation, low libido and erection problem. I was angry and sad and depress. I had low energy. Wellbutrin gave me more energy and increased my libido. Still erection is not back to normal. I don't maintain an erection during masterbation. Intercourse seems to be OK. -Steve Steve, I was wondering if you had been having problems with emotional flatness and if wellbutrin changed that in any way. > > >> > > It's good to hear things are stable so far, it certainly sounds > like > > > wellbutrin isn't for you.
