Guest guest
Barb! I nearly dropped to my knees tonight when I heard the message on my phone. I couldn't believe it! I am so touched that she called us. I haven't had a chance to call back. Being on the West Coast it made it kind of late Florida time to call. I will definitely call tomorrow. I feel now, even more, that this group is really family. How we all connect, and come together. I think the fact that HIS family felt it important enough to call us, says a lot about Chief's character and how loving he and his family really are. We were all blessed to be part of what he shared with us. His Mom is more than welcome to his posts. They are all public domain. If she wants I will even print, scan and email or snail mail them to her. I know she misses him madly and reading what he shared with us will give her solace. I think I have the same feeling as you. It was unexpected but it's like your best friends mom called. Strange.... Guest guest
called me as well! It was such a joy to talk with her. She's going to be emailing me some pics and things and I promised her I would post them on the board for Little Eagle. I told her it was hard for me to call him Mark because we all knew him as Chief Little Eagle. We laughed and cried and just talked about Little Eagle, about his family, his daughter, his granddaughter, just life in general. She talked about the years of his struggle with cirrhosis and how he had never remarried after the divorce with his daughter's mother. She spoke about how touched they were that so many of us had left messages of condolence on the funeral line. I told her he was just such a great guy and would be forever missed here. Barby, didn't you feel as if you had known her all your life? It's easy to see where Little Eagle got his easy-going way. I will always treasure the conversation with her. It helped to bring closure to a still somewhat open wound. Hope you all are doing as well as you possibly can. Hugs........... Guest guest
Hi Barby, Diane, and Mac, Wow! I was just blown away when I read this about Chief's mom calling you three. That is so incredible, especially considering that she just lost him. I don't think there are too many people who would call people they didn't know after something like that. What a wonderful lady she must be! I just filled up with tears when I read this. He was such a character and will be forever remembered and missed. I can't wait to see the pictures. He was such a great guy! I'll be in awe about this for a while. I know all my family knows about all of you as well. I talk about everyone on this group as though you are all part of my family because I consider you all as part of my family too. Take care. Penny > > > > called me as well!
