Guest guest
Greg, I am happy to hear your wife is finally doing better. I know you guys have been through a lot. If she is suffering and she has decided not to go for a transplant, I would be in touch with her doctor's office first thing tomorrow and talk to them about pain meds for her. There is no reason she should be suffering. If this doctor won't give her pain meds, change doctors and find one that will. She has been through too much to continue to suffer with pain and you have been through too much to have to watch that. We are always here for you and will be praying for you guys. Keep us informed of what's going on. Just because your wife has decided against transplant doesn't mean you have to leave us. Stay with us and let us help you through the days that lie ahead of you. We're here for everyone, not just those waiting for transplants. Hang with us, we're peaceable!!! Hugs......... I have been paying attention to the postings here. I just want to say, my thoughts are with this group everyday. My wife has finished up her last wrapping of her infection, that resulted from a cat scratch. After surgery, we hadto have it wrapped everyday.. but now, it seems to be doing its job. The Cellulits was horrbile, along with the edema.. She has still been very tired. Out of pain meds since yesterday... and will be out until the doc gives her more...but he prob. wont for awhile.. she has decided not to get into the liver trasplant program...so why cant they keep her pain done.. Now, about ten years ago. she had biatric surgery, and since then.. have been having nothing but stomach problems... She has cirrohis of the liver, but they never did a biopsy. They wont do explorig surgery, as they state, that they dont want to put her through that. This morning, I found out, well, i do work in the hospital, that an acquaitance of my wife passed away with liver disease. He was 45. His sister runs the payroll department. I tried to give as much support to her, as she is also a friend of my wife. We hav another woman, who is the controller of the hospital, who had an suscessful liver surgery about two years ago. These people, co workers that family has gone through this, and I want you to know, this group have be there for me... during my moments of being afraid, not knowing whats going on with the diease. i want you to know, that I thank you, and love you, for being you, for the support, that you give me and people families .... Guest guest
Dear Greg, I am glad to hear your wife is still with you. whew. We worried. I wrote you before, and to others as well, but still know one I know of has sought a " pain medicine " specialist. Pain is a disease just like liver disease is a disease. Pain is a separate disease all by itself. You wouldn't go to a dentist for a liver transplant, or a neuro surgeon for a broken leg. Doctors who are not students of the basal ganglia, and dorsal horn of the spinal cord, (which is the " organ " responsible for pain) are not very good at treating pain. My wife's own neuro surgeon at her last visit told her that he was going to partner with a pain man soon because he didn't feel like he was enough of an expert at it to make a difference. This neuro surgeon is one of the most famous in the entire world. I learned a lot from his declaration. I learned that what my pain man said to me it so true, he said " Sharon's neuro surgeon is no more better suited to do pain medicine than I am to operate on your brain " Good luck Greg. I hope you can get her to a pain medicine specialist soon. Bobby long life, old age, everything good-Apache prayer ________________________________ To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2008 1:33:03 PM Subject: Re: Good Morning Group. dear Greg i have had you in my thoughts and prayers daily. i am so very pleased that you are still here and more then that that your wife is fairing better. i was worried that something had happened to you all since we have not had a posting in a while. please take care. see you later love in Christ sandra ____________ _________ _________ __ From: Greg <openmindedmale36@ yahoo.com> To: livercirrhosissuppo rtyahoogroups (DOT) com Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2008 12:29:35 PM Subject: Good Morning Group.
