Guest guest
Over the years I have come across a number of granite installations that have emitted radon. The case that I remember most clearly was a home in Southern California that tested with approximately 6 pCi of radon per liter in most of the house. The guest bedroom was tested and had almost 30 pCi. It turned out the source was two granite headboards for the twin beds. Removing the headboards to the detached garage reduced the radon level in the home to under 0.5 pCi. The homeowner said he wasn’t at all concerned because the only person that ever slept in the guest bedroom was his mother in law.
