Guest guest
, There is medicine that will help with his nausea. Please check it out because it really helped me. I began the transplant review with the liver insittute in early July and was put on the list in October with the MELD score of 15 (that is fairly low, but high enough to get on " the list " ). In each state, it is different. I am in area 4 if that helps you any....Have you met with the transplant team yet? Lyncia In life family and friends take us on all kinds of adventures, God helps us choose our path....Enjoy your journey! I didn't have a shunt in but I had to be drained from my abdomen (paracentesis) done a few times before getting my liver. I was really nauseous and vomiting all the time before my transplant, and slept a lot too. When a person gets referred by their doctor to a transplant center, they get evaluated by the transplant surgeons, hepatologist, etc. They will test for everything to make sure the patient's body can withstand surgery. Only the doctors at a transplant center can decide if your husband is eligible to get a liver. Has your husband been referred to a transplant center and started the evaluation process yet? Take care. Guest guest
, The meds for nausea helped me a little at the start, but soon it didn't help me at all. That was my experience. Everyone is different. Yes, you should see if your husband can get some of those meds for nausea like Lyncia mentioned. It took three months for me to get on the list too, like Lyncia. My Meld score was 14 when I got on the list, and they started doing transplants at 15.
