Re: Use of Agency services beyond those provided by schools

My son is 13. We are # 8057 on the CLASS list we have been on for

several years. Because of our above poverty level status we do not

qualify for any help below. I also do not consider my son to have mental

retardation nor do I want him classified as such so MHMR is out of the

question. My kid can do algebra in his head and respond on a

letterboard. I actually think he may be smarter than me. His

disabilities are more tied to social and communication and attention so

where does that put us? We need the same help as persons who benefit

from MHMR but for a different reason. Having Autism is like being from

another galaxy and being forced to live here. I wonder if Mr. Spock

received any special services for his anti social behavior......
