,

Get your thyroid checked...the thyroid is the gland which regulates the

metabolism. But I can't recall how long you've been working out. If it's

been only a while, you need to give it some more time. Lifting

weights...even light ones...helps build muscle too.

Try giving up sweets but eating sweet potatos once a day. They're very

satisfying and good for you...though I know they're no-no's on Sugarbusters.

It might be a good transition from candy and cookies.

Another thought on your situation...did your mother have similar changes at

about that age? your aunts? sisters? cousins?

, I agree with the " substitute a positive for a negative " idea

that somebody recommended to you the other day. When I have an urge

for sweets at work, I close my office door and do roundhouse kicks,

machine gun kicks, punches, and stretches. Not only do I get past my

sweet tooth urge, but I also get the exercise " high, " not to mention the

aerobic workout and improvement to my balance on the kicks. After

dinner when I have an urge to keep on eating, I check my Taebo e-mail.

When I am finished reading and posting, the urge is usually gone.

Hi Amy,

I am so sorry, first of all.... Please try to breathe.... I know it's hard. Which doc is reading this MRI? I would take it to the most reputable hospital you can find and have them re-read it....... If you don't find answers the first time, seek second, third and fourth opinions until you get what you need. Hang in.... Praying for you, Steph

Hi everyone,We just had Allie's first MRI today and her ortho just called and there is something there. He said the radiologist has never seen it before but there is a abnormality in the spinal cord where her curve is. He said it did not look like a tumor or cist but it looked like a thickening tissue. Has any one else had this. Or any theroies on what this could be. HELP!!!!ThanksAmy

Tasha,

Our plan is to get her to the Ped. Neurologist next week. We also have a appt already scheduled at UVA June 3. I am going to start the process for Shriners in Greenville Sc. So I would hope between the 3 places we will get the answers we are looking for. Thanks for your thoughts. I love this group and feel very blessed to have found it.
