Guest guest
Ask if you can sit in on a morning/afternoon session where he would be placed - that way you can get a good feel for the school. > Hi Ola, > Personally I always go with gut instinct and ask general questions > that > give me a big picture. Guest guest
For the school with the unit ask if they have a success rate for full integration in mainstream - how much time is spent in the unit and how much in mainstream. Objective is to see if the unit is really targetting inclusion/integration or is it an excuse to put challenging kids in different class. Guest guest
Hi Ola I think this is a really difficult question to answer because the answer depends on the needs of your child and all our kids are different........so there is not one set of standard questions. I would start with making a list of what you feel his needs are and then ask the school how they could meet each one. Good idea to ask to sit in on a class - you will get an instinct for whether or not the teaching style/s would meet his needs.
