I'm not sure how many camerasthey use for the taped sessions, but one camera showing 's fullbody, one camera to zero in on the particular body part, and one ormore rovers.

I completely agree with that. Actually, in Kathy 's kickboxing workout, before doing the moves faster, they actually show like 3 different shots of the same movement on the same screen, so you can get an idea what kind of form you should have. Kathy 's tape is probably a good adjunct to the taebo videos... It really helped me a lot on my form. I know that it is available at Amazon...

They need serious work on the editing. In general, I'm not crazy about themusic, either.I completely agree again with this... The music is sometimes also too loud and hides 's voice... and at some points it is not loud enough. Definitely an editing problem.

less space than fat. Granted, we're not building the kind of muscle mass

I was terrified of adding bulky muscle mass cuz I was a swimmer and very

athletic with overdeveloped muscles as a teen. My thighs actually look

slimmer & more toned now than they did then even though I weigh about 40

pounds more than I did then. Tae Bo seems to tone the muscles I already had

without adding bulk, showing it is never too late to be even more fit than I

even was when young and active & carrying less fat. I believe Tae Bo affects

different people differently depending on their body type.

Barb, you are right. Our bone structure plays a big part in our

clothing size. Watching all of the different body types on the taebo

tapes inspires me because all of the regulars look great regardless of

the bones they were born with. My goal is to make my figure look the

best I can given my body shape and bone structure. I'll never be a size

8 because of my shape (the only time I was when I was a nutritional mess

in law school), but I strive to be a very fit size 10 or even 12. If

can do it, so can I.

is on every tape that I have seen except for the instructional

tape (I haven't done BL2, BL3, or BL4). She is blond and really built.

On the studio tapes, she is in the back. On the advanced live tapes,

she is either in the front row or the second row. knocks her down

at the end of AL1. You are not ignorant. I just have watched these

tapes so much that I feel like I know everyone on them.

On Questions for Tae Bo Queen on the Message Boards, people would ask

questions about all the regulars and Queenie would give us the scoop.

How do you all know who everyone is on the tapes??

I read 's book, and discovered that is his daughter??

WOW.

Anyway, right now, Taebo queen is my inspiration. I have seen her on BL1,

and I've seen her web site with her before and after pictures..what a

difference!

And here's my brag for the day...I'm on day 5 of my 21 dc. I'll prob. only

do 8minute today after bustin ass all weekend at work..I'm exhausted. I've

only had about 6 hours sleep in the past 3 days. But I'm ready to get that

tae bo high, after the advanced tomorrow!!

, who agrees with Barb that that high is what is so addictive!

I recommend AL4 over AL3 for several reasons. AL4 has better music and

is so upbeat. There are also a lot of fun, fun, new moves. In

contrast, AL3 seems arduous to me. There are many demanding exercises

(squat front kicks TWICE; one side knee lift, the other side front kick,

.... ), but so little fun (I do like the combination speed bag punches,

though). The music for the most part on AL3 is not memorable. There is

a long series of balancing moves at the end. All of the exercises are

good, but I don't feel the same energy. It just feels like the

emotional rewards are less from AL3. AL4 is exactly the opposite in

that regard. Also, Al4 has less repetitions (for example, you do only 4

sets of the 3 level round house kicks). Fewer repetitions for me mean

less chance of injury, and greater focus.

AL2 or studio advanced: AL2 because it never fails to motivates me to

do my best during the work out (and because there are fewer dreaded

balance moves); Studio advanced because I feel so comfortable with it, I

love watching " my girls, " it helps me work on my form, and it's a great

work out.

This is a tough one....but I'd have to say AL2. I love the music and

it always seems to motivate me as well as give me a great workout every

time!

I'd say that if you have 2 VCRs, copy six tapes onto a videocassette in the SP format (is that the longest format, i'm not sure). That will narrow down the choice a bit!

Great questions, Barb! I come from a very athletic background. My

fitness level in high school was great and PE was my favorite subject. I took it first period every year. During my junior year I started

power lifting thanks to my oldest brother who was a power lifter. It

was during this period that my PE teacher let my choose what I wanted

to do during PE. A good friend of mine and I used to run for half the

period every single day. Then I would hit the weight room. I would

only participate with the rest of the class if they were playing a

sport that I enjoyed playing, for example, softball, basketball or

archery.

Once out of high school I continued to lift weights and I ran 5 miles

everyday. This regime continued even after I had my two children. I

used to load both of them up in their stroller and off we would go.

Due to a constant nagging injury in my right thigh, I eased off of

running, started working out with aerobic videos and decided to become

serious about natural bodybuilding. I also decided to play competitive

softball and played 9 months out of the year.

This was pretty much my routine until January 95 when I was involved

in a car accident that literally changed my life. Three back surgeries

later, I literally had to either try to get my life back to somewhat of

a normal level or go downhill. I chose to get my life back on track. In January 98 I started a walking routine and in August of 98 I

discovered Tae Bo. It's funny, but I have yet to see a Tae Bo

infomercial. I saw his tapes in Collage Video and something inside of

me told me that this is what will help bring me inner strength again. It's the best purchase that I've ever made and I honestly credit

Blanks and Tae Bo for giving back to me what was lost almost 5 years

ago, my inner strength, self esteem, physical fitness, inner peace and

just so much more.

I truly believe that fitness is a journey and it starts with the

first step................................................

exact thing. The only drawback was the severe muscle spasms due to the

enormous amount of muscles that I did have. :)

I agree on that one. We have had muscular people in car accidents who have their neck vertebrates misplaced, and we have to put them in traction..with a TON of poundage to straighten their vertebrae out. The TON of poundage was required to overcome the very tone muscles they had that were in spasms. I remember one guy who was a wrestler, and was in a diving accident. He was in around 95 pounds of traction and its not sling traction either. That 95 pounds is hanging off the top of your head via pins that are placed in the skull! OUCH.

In High school I was involved in Marching Band for PE which I couldnt get

enough of. After practice each day I would walk for an hour an then go home

and jump around my room for an hour trying to do aerobics. I always thought

I was fat back then. Gosh was I stupid!!!!!!! If I had that schedule again

I could probably substitute Tae Bo for the hour of lunitic aerobics and still

do it all. I have the energy and the will during the day, but now that I

have no time my nights are Tae bo followed by heavy slumbing before my next

very long work day.

Good question and very interesting answers from everyone. I did no

exercise in high school. I dreaded PE and never learned how to play any

sport. Instead, I dieted (one year I ate 5 cookies and nothing else for

lunch) to keep my weight down.

Then, in college I started ballet lessons, which I loved until some

teacher demoted me to a beginner's class. Then, I jogged regularly.

When I was 25 (1985), I herniated a disk in my back " teaching " (faking)

volleyball on one leg because of a sprained ankle. Thus, began my

" second " life.

After the injury and doctor ordered inactivity, I was finally prescribed

antidepressants and psychotherapy (both of which were long overdue) and

2 years later I had back surgery. With my doctor's encouragement, I

started slowly exercising, e.g., swimming, walking, and then progressed

to exercise machines, e.g., treadmill, stepper, bike.

I got back in shape but something was still missing. Then, I saw the

informercial for Taebo. I was amazed at the cool moves everyone on the

show appeared able to do with ease. I always have felt so

uncoordinated. Now, after 7 months of Taebo, I feel like an athlete

with unlimited potential. I feel graceful, coordinated, and strong, as

well as in shape. I know I probably will not loose any weight because I

am near or close to my now ideal weight, but with Taebo (and Yoga and

weight lifting), I can make my body looks its best. Doing Taebo well

makes me think about one day taking dancing or martial arts lessons.
