Hi. My right ear is closed right now too following drops and meds....

I also hear a buzzing along with any sounds ....strange.

I also wonder if maybe I should feel lucky that my right ear

is "closed" but I have been sick and now I have to ask

people to repeat everything....ugh, it is either all the way

one way or the other.....

Yes, my left ear has always been more dominant than my right. I hadear infections as a child and have fluid in my right ear causing menot to be able to hear as well out of that side. It's kind of like I'mplugging my ear with my finger. I've always been thankful for itbecause with my 4S I can tune more things out when someone sits on myright. It'd be interesting to know if more people with 4S favor oneside. I did go to this article and read it. Something interesting in it was about left eared people and disabilities, retraining them to be right eared so they could process things on the left side of their brain with less delay (right ear connected to the left brain and visa versa). I've never noticed a right or left ear dominance, but I'm a very right brained person and have a lot of difficulty with most left brained functions. It usually takes me much longer to respond to someone and with people expect a quick answer who don't notice the visual clues that your thinking it can be very frustrating. Plus with the ear plugs and head gear they sometimes think I just can't hear them and

then they start treating me like I'm going deaf, which is hardly my problem. That's how I found the huperacusis network, then the link to this, because my mom gave me an article on disorders for people who are loosing their hearing. Luckily I read it anyway.

Also that part about processing sound through our bones is not suprizing to me at all. I often hear noises like they're going right through me. It actually feels like a bodily violation.

Thanks for that link.

Lynn

I've known for years that I favor my left ear (like phone on left) and am less sensitive in my left ear (don't like trigger person sitting on my right).I had a bad ear infection in my right ear when I was 14 (years after 4s developed); so bad that my teeth didn't meet because of the swelling, so I thought that was why my right ear seems so weird. Also used to get fluid in my right ear a lot which caused an irritable vibration when I would speak.Anyway,

don't actually remember the details about my ears before I had the ear infection.Has anyone else noticed significant differences in their ears ?

like I asked before, I wonder if some deaf people have a type of 4S

from feeling the sounds like a car bass going by that might

bother them like 4S bothers us?

Same here. Sometimes my body quivers from some non offending sounds because of the presence of the sound my body feels.>> > > Also that part about processing sound through our bones is not suprizing to me at all.
