Sandy, If you have the time to locate the German original, I'll

translate the abstract into English.

Hi /Patience,

My library have been a great help. I realised that being German the

British Library probably wouldn't have it BUT I asked our library here

at Birmingham to help and ...

" After some initial investigating we have found that the British

Library appear to hold the les Paediatrici from 1938-1966. " :-)

So I'm completing a loan request and I'll let you know when it arrives

(might be a couple of weeks).

I saw Dr Wakefield had referenced this paper - I guess he may have a

copy but I think he also has other things on his mind so we can wait

for this copy. It's exciting.

Best wishes,

Sandy

Hi and Patience,

I have just collected the paper (Asperger's 1961 Psychopathology of

Children with Coeliac Disease) from inter-library loan. Apparently,

most of the citations give the wrong page numbers it is

pp346-351.

The English summary at the end says:

" Reference is made to the uniform psychic changes observed in patients

suffering from coeliac disease and it is assumed that a certain

constitution is a precondition of the coeliac syndrome. On the whole

follow-up studies reveal a good prognosis in regard to psychic

behaviour of these pateints. "

will you send me an email and I will attach a scan in the reply.

It looks like a non-technical, readable paper (except for being in

German :-)!) - quite big type and a couple of photos of children.

Best wishes,

Sandy

Sure, will do. There is a German native speaker on board and hopefully

she will chime in. I know she'll do a better job of grappling with the

paper :-))) but I''lld do what I can.

I am in dreadful thesis stress and having discovered a major flaw, I am

in a right flap.

Hi and Sally,

The paper scanned to nearly 8MBytes. I've emailed it but it may be a

bit big for your IN trays. Let me know if you don't get it and we will

work something else out.

Best wishes,

Sandy
