Here is a link to MELD information. It's in a PDF format. So you will need Adobe

Acrobat Reader to view. (It's a free download if you don't have it.)

It explains how meld is used for transplants. Normally, you have to be a MELD of

6 to be listed on the transplant list and have to be 15 or higher to receive a

transplant. This shouldn't very too much from State to State.

To know for sure in your area is to call the nearest transplant center and ask

them. They are regionalized so you can google for example, Transplant Centers

California and the results should come up.

I thought you posted you were being seen at a Transplant Center. Is that right?

Has your doctor referred you for evaluation by the Transplant team? They would

be able to give you a better idea of what your actual MELD and placement is.

They will put you through a series of tests first.....it took months and my meld

even was in the mid 20's but not transplant until they were sure that there were

not any cancer cells present.

Hello,I got it figured out,my PTT is 14.5 and my INR is 1.4,bilirubin

is 2.6 and creatinine .7 so it says my meld is 14,now.....how do I find

out what score you have to be in my area to be on a list and so on,how

actually bad is 14? I will be going to the Cleveland Clinic. Thanks for

anything more I can find out for myself Hugs,

Hi Mac,I have been refered to a transplant team,but Im still waiting on getting

in to see my new heptologist,the secretary says they are waiting on all my fax's

from my infectious disease dr.,and my gastroenologist,that was 3 weeks
