Guest guest
, Here is a link to MELD information. It's in a PDF format. So you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. (It's a free download if you don't have it.) It explains how meld is used for transplants. Normally, you have to be a MELD of 6 to be listed on the transplant list and have to be 15 or higher to receive a transplant. This shouldn't very too much from State to State. To know for sure in your area is to call the nearest transplant center and ask them. They are regionalized so you can google for example, Transplant Centers California and the results should come up. I thought you posted you were being seen at a Transplant Center. Is that right? Has your doctor referred you for evaluation by the Transplant team? They would be able to give you a better idea of what your actual MELD and placement is. Guest guest
, They will put you through a series of tests first.....it took months and my meld even was in the mid 20's but not transplant until they were sure that there were not any cancer cells present.
