Guest guest
Yep, I asked Sharon if she wanted me to make a movie of her experience regardless of how bad she felt, and she said yes. I have a digitsal camera and people didn't realize that it was filming video, so no one hasseled me in the hospital, because you know it is usually a no no in the hospital to have a camera. People hear opf a law and get stupid. I actually had a guard tell me that because of HIPPA, I could nt film in the hospital. I asked " what a bout all the husbands filming vaginal births upstairs?? You're going to make a stink over a few clips of my wife??? " She lost that argument. Hehe. Good luck and hang in there, Penny. Love. B Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile One Down, 47 To Go Hi all, Thank you all for your encouraging words and support. Bobby, that is a good idea to film it all. I didn't even think of that. Maybe I will do some of that. Lori gave me my first shot in the back of my arm tonight. So far, so good. Nothing has happened yet. It's only been a couple of hours, though. That makes it so much easier for her to give me the shot especially for the first time. Next week she will do it again, and then after that, I will start doing it myself, but she will still be here with me. She thought that would be easier for me since I'm mostly thinking about the side effects right now. We had a ball taking a hundred pictures of ourselves, and watching the video of her jumping out of the plane. That was so cool! It looked like so much fun! She left the DVD with me, so I think I will copy it onto my computer, and maybe put it on my Myspace page. Everyone take care of yourselves. Guest guest
You touched a sore spot with the HIPPA and me. I've had HIPPA training because I deal with medical information and I hate the fact now that the Medical Community is so scared of the law that they hide behind it. A security guard, doubtfully, fully understands the law. HIPPA is to protect the disclosure of health information to persons who otherwise should not have have access to it without consent of the patient even in pursuant of their official duties. This can include the family to a certain extent. I have even had to clarify HIPPA law to medical staff when they wouldn't let me see my wifes medical records but would allow me to give a DNR without consent. Go figure! And if shooting a video is against HIPPA law then so are all the security cameras that film 24/7 in hospitals without patients consent. Ok, I'll calm down now. Sorry. Bad experience with all that HIPPA crap. I guess next time you can make up a release form, have your wife sign it and bring that with you. Wonder what they would do then? :-) MaC By filming your wife, you are not disclosing her personal health information without her consent. robwalkingeagle@... wrote: Yep, I asked Sharon if she wanted me to make a movie of her experience regardless of how bad she felt, and she said yes. Guest guest
I had an intake person at the emergency room tell me that my husband and I were not married, because we don't have a marriage license. It PISSED me off beyond belief and I went ballistic! I thanked her for informing me and set out to figure out how to get the paperwork with him in the hospital. It turns out that Proxy marriage isn't recognized, but common-law marriage IS; therefore, she was wrong and put me through two days of pure frustration and panic that I did not need. Even though I am the primary on BC/BS and pay for my husbands doctors, etc., I had no right to know what his test results, etc. were, so here we are. This world can really be cruel. Yep, I asked Sharon if she wanted me to make a movie of her experience regardless of how bad she felt, and she said yes.
