Guest guest
Dear Kareemah, If you can find an African market, they will have red palm oil. . . but it is definitely an acquired taste--I tried making cookies with it but had to throw them away, they tasted so awful. A shame because the " red " color comes from all sorts of nutrients, pollen, insect parts, etc. But it has the same proportion of saturated fats--which are beneficial, no need to avoid them. Guest guest
Hello Sally: Thank you for the reply. The African Market near me has the red palm oil, but it is not virgin. I can tell because it has no flavor what so ever. Also would the let unprocessed food over here from Africa? Just wondering. I have a few chicken and beef recipies for it. Baking is probably not what you would want to use it for, I would imagine. Thanks again, Kareemah
Guest guest
Hello again: Oh I forgot to mention, I wasn't trying to avoid the fats, I know they are good. It's just that I wanted to try out a few of these recipies and was curious about the more authentic taste that I would get from using the Red Palm Oil. The recipie says that this oil is distinct in flavor from the white palm oil. Thanks Kareemah

Guest guest
I think if the palm oil is red, it is unprocessed! Sally
