Guest guest
Hi all, haven't posted for ages, but am here almost every day! Just a question, if anyone could share their views, Id be grateful. My autistic boy aged 8 now, has swollen tonsils for a while now. He doesn't complain of pain or sore throat, but sometimes when I'm lying in bed with him, reading or talking, when he swallows it sounds like a gurgling, sluicing sound, as if it's an effort to swallow the saliva - you can hear the swallow, if you know what I mean. the doctor said the tonsils were enlarged, but not to worry lot's of children have this etc. I'm just wondering if I should have him swabbed as I want to use threelac with him, and have read that this would not be advised in the case of strep? it would make him worse? could there be strep? and if you were me, would you look further into this? The doctor seemed quite unconcerned, but she's just the locum Gp and doesnt know his history....thanks for any ideas, C
