Guest guest
Penny, I'm sorry you got sick, but so glad that you are feeling better. No wonder you're emotional! You've had an emotional year! I know it's a hard thing to go through when your spouse loses his job, but I also know sometimes what seems a bad thing turns out to be a blessing in disguise. I'm praying that that is just what this time will become for you and your DH. You have such a great attitude about life, it's so good to see this hasn't gotten you down! Hang in there sweetie! I'm praying for you guys. Love and hugs.......... Diane ________________________________ To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Thursday, December 4, 2008 2:43:56 PM Subject: Treatment Going Ok So Far Hi everybody, I was fooled to think that I was getting by easy with the treatment because I didn't have any fever, chills, or body aches Tuesday over night after the shot. I did, however, wake up with a bit of a headache yesterday morning. As the day went on, it got worse. Finally, around 3:00, I was nauseous and had a big surprise...lost my cookies... all water. I was drinking a lot of water because I was so thirsty, and they stress that you should drink half your body weight in ounces when you're on treatment. I already drink at least 8 glasses a day since they stressed that after the transplant, that I must stay hydrated. I was nauseous off and on ever since. My coordinator said the first 24 hours after the shot are the worst. My 24 hours started late, I think. I ate supper, one tiny piece at a time, having to take a breath between each bite because each bite made me nauseous. I started getting a back ache yesterday too, but that's not a big deal. My husband called my coordinator when I got sick, and she said I was drinking too much water, to not drink so much. I started feeling much better by bed time, and ate the rest of my supper that I couldn't finish earlier. Today, I feel really good, except I am soooooo tired! I'm getting more emotional too. I've been trying to read the posts, but they are making me cry, so I'm kind of skimming over them. I'm not depressed. I am smiling and laughing a lot, just a little more emotional than normal. My appetite is still good, but I'm not liking my sweets as much as I did, which isn't a bad thing. My husband was let go from his job today because of cut backs, so now he will be getting unemployment and money will really be tight. His job has been getting really hard on his body anyway, and he has been injured on the job a couple of times and has a Workman's Comp claim in, so I think that has something to do with why he lost his job. He now has high cholesterol too that he needs meds for, and he won't have any insurance. Oh, well. Things will work out. I should call Social Security and tell them so maybe I won't have to pay that $90 some that they take out of each check for Medicare. My mom is still healing from her gallbladder surgery...very slow going, still having some pain. My dad has been having pain from kidney stones, and went to Urgent Care today, had to give a urine sample, and the stone came out in the urine sample. That couldn't have worked out any better. I hope everyone is doing as well as can be. Penny
Guest guest
Hi Penny, I did treatment for 8 months only to be told it wasn't killing the virus. I thought I was handling it okay but I was angry all the time and didn't really have an appetite. I hope you have better results than me and that you are able to tolorate the side effects. Guest guest
I'm sorry it didn't do the job for you. Will you try another treatment? I think there is a treatment called Interfergon for people who don't respond to Pegasys CoPegasys. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks so much for your prayers. I'm actually not complaining. It could be a lot worse. It is going better than I expected. I just hope it continues to go as well with minimal side effects. Everyone tells me that the first shot is the worst, so if that's true, this shouldn't be bad at all. You can order a calendar now on the organization's site. My dog, my husband, and I are in the month of September. http://www.petsnpatients.com/getorder3.php They cost $20 plus $2 for shipping, and you can pay with Paypal. If you don't have Paypal, it is easy and free to sign up for an account. Penny > > > > > > Hi Penny, > > > > > > I did treatment for 8 months only to be told it wasn't killing > the > > virus. I'm actually not complaining. It could be a lot worse. It is going better than I expected. I just hope it continues to go as well with minimal side effects. Everyone tells me that the first shot is the worst, so if that's true, this shouldn't be bad at all. You can order a calendar now on the organization' s site. My dog, my husband, and I are in the month of September. http://www.petsnpat ients.com/ getorder3. php They cost $20 plus $2 for shipping, and you can pay with Paypal. If you don't have Paypal, it is easy and free to sign up for an account. Penny > > > > > > Hi Penny, > > > > > > I did treatment for 8 months only to be told it wasn't killing > the > > virus. Guest guest
I didn't mean that I thought you thought I was complaining. I was just saying I can't complain because it could be so much worse. I have heard lots of horror stories about this treatment. I will share all I can because I know I looked and looked for what other people said how the treatment affected them, and I hated hearing all the horrible stuff. I know how much I wanted to know, so I figure other people would want to know how it goes too, and that it doesn't always have to be so horrible. Guest guest
Yeah, I somtimes don't post for a week. Here is the link you asked for. I found Moreena's blog in the spring of 07, right around the same time I found this support site. There is a nurse named Beth from s Hopkins who has a blog called " pixelrn " and it was one of her posts called " liverland " that Moreena had used in her own blog post. I was moved from the very beginning, and it inspired me to write a blog. Here are all of those links, love bobby http://moreena.typepad.com/falling_down_is_also_a_gi/liver_disease/ http://pixelrn.blog.com/725747/ http://moreena.typepad.com/falling_down_is_also_a_gi/ http://pixelrn.com/ long life, old age, everything good-Apache prayer ________________________________ To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Saturday, December 6, 2008 8:57:34 PM Subject: Re: Re: Treatment Going Ok So Far i just started reading 's blog web site she has a lot of useful information. posting can be difficult. i know your heart and it is a big one. love sandra ____________ _________ _________ __ From: preciouspenny3 <preciouspenny3@ yahoo.com> To: livercirrhosissuppo rtyahoogroups (DOT) com Sent: Friday, December 5, 2008 9:38:40 PM Subject: Re: Treatment Going Ok So Far I didn't mean that I thought you thought I was complaining.
