It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that 's

husband, , passed away earlier this evening. of course,

and her children, are broken hearted. Please pray for them that the

Lord will give them encouragement and strength to face the days ahead.

I expect to hear from her again tomorrow. As soon as I know more, I

will post again.

In case I never get the chance to say it again, I am so thankful for

each of you and for the love and support I have found in this group. I

love you all and I pray for each of your needs daily. Thank you for

being a friend and for always being here when I need you.

Love and hugs........ .

I'm doing ok.  Of course, my heart is breaking for and their children and

I wish so badly I could travel to NC, but I can't so I just have to accept

that.  Terry has had a couple of really bad days.  He didn't sleep at all last

night and has been so nauseated, yet cannot throw up.  I am really concerned,

but know there's nothing I can do but be here for him and pray that it's not

time yet.

Diane, does Terry have a prescription for Zofran? It is a really good anti

nausea drug available which was developed for chemo patients. Without it Sharon

and I would be sunk. She is entering her second year of intermittant vertigo and

I get nausea 2-3 times a week still. It is to the point that I am afraid to go

anywhere for fear of nausea or motionsickness. Love, Bobby. I hope you have

Zofran, or that you can get some.

I tell them it's because the Lord gave me such a giving spirit and He looks out

Hi Bobby, no he doesn't have the Zofran, but I will be calling his doctor and

asking for it if the nausea returns again.  He is also experiencing a lot of

back pain.  I'm hoping he will be able tomorrow to go in to see his doctor.

They have told me to bring him in if he can, no appt. necessary.  If not, I'll

call the doctor back tomorrow and talk to him about the Zofran and something for

the back pain.  He has been wonderful to help us out with things like this.  He

understands Terry's desire not to be hospitalized again and is working with me

in every way he can to assure that doesn't happen.  Terry is also against

Hospice because he wants us to be here together without strangers coming in and

out.  Surprisingly, our doctor completely understands that and is trying to help

us out without having to resort to Hospice.  If things continue to deteriorate a

lot before the time comes, then I will have to have Hospice, but for right now

everything is

good.  Thank you so much for your concern and your always willing and helpful

heart.

That being the case a small dose of a pure opoid would not be unreasonable at

this point either.. He is hospice eligible, and you can bet your bottom dollar

that by now hospice would be assressing his nausea, but even more aggresivly

addressing his pain. For them, pain is a no no. Unfortunately these drugs

have been so demonized that even I had a kinpshun fit about Ardis taking them

when she was switched over to hospice status, but still in the nursing home.

They did give her roxynol which is like liquid morphine and it took her pain

away. I am so used to the medicine now that there isn't much in the way of

drowsyness, but whatever side effects are far outweighed by being able to

function a little better. I'm out andf about today, but with out medicine, I'd

be in bed. Good luck. Love Bobby

Bobby, would they be able to offer something besides anything in the morphine

family?  Morphine produces halucinations in Terry.  I'm definitely going to call

the doctor tomorrow, if we make it through the night without going to the ER.

Yep, it is!  I was on it for a several months before my insurance stopped paying

for it and I can't afford it without the insurance.  That's my one concern for

Terry.  I'm not sure how much his Medicare Part D will pay for Zofran.  Then

again, if I got him into a Hospice program, his meds would be covered under his

Medicare Part A, so that might be an option as well.  Hummmmm, I'll have to talk

to the doctor.

You girls are great with the shopping thing.  I'm terrible and haven't even

started.  I think I'd just rather not this year...but my 3 children keep

reminding me..I keep telling them...go away!!  I'm not celebrating Christmas

this year.  We'll just eat fudge and read the account of Jesus' birth and sing

carols...no presents!  They laugh and think I'm kidding, but if I don't get off

my backside and get to shopping, it might be true!!

Ohhhhhhhh Barby, you are such a Gwamma!!!!  LOL!  I love you chic!  I am so much

like you, except that they're not my grandchildren, they my great nieces and

great nephew!  I just can't seem to stop buying!  And, I so much have to even

them out!  Can't have one or two children having more packages than the

other(s)!  Even if it's a $5 difference, I gotta try to get it closer!  I am

sooooooo BAD!!!!!  You enjoy your shopping.  It'll be worth it when those babies

light up while they're opening those packages!!!!!

Luv ya babe!!!

Diane

Pamela - your description of Christmas sounds great. Wish i could do that

with my family but we are scattered in four states from the Mississippi

River to the Pacific Ocean, from north to south. I hope to get all my

shopping done next Monday when I have a chance to get down to Yuma where

they have a WalMart, 80 miles away and the closest one to us. I have 12

grandchildren to buy for, four children, 1 spouse and my mother. Then I

have to wrap them all and mail them out. I keep boxes all year just to

mail them out, one box for each family, but I always end up buying boxes

because the ones I have saved just aren't the right size. This year I won't

have to mail 5 because we are trying to find a way to celebrate Christmas

with my daughter who lives in CA. But her son is living with me and can't

get Christmas off. We are hoping for New Years. or a weekend around the

two somehow. Jan H
