Guest guest
This last week I rec'd a call from an east coast physician, a pscyhiatrist, who had recently seen a pediatric patient who had all the symptoms of 4S, and whose parent had brought in copies of this site and some of my other ones, along to the visit. Interestingly, the MD has a daughter herself who shows all the signs of 4S and who had been diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder as a result, although the major symptoms appeared to be 4 S related! It would make a good novel plot! So as you can imagine, she was doubly interested, first in the young person in front of her and secondly, the implications for her own child. So she just called me up! And was surprised, I think, to find me answering the phone, hello? and ready to spend an hour talking. I instantly recognized the value of that conversation, as I have been praying and wishing for such a medical provider to come along, to work with me and my research friend, a clinical psychologist PhD and audiologist, to begin the task of compiling information into a publishable form and to help identify the proper venues to the MDs, the clinical folks, and so on, while the popular distribution method is quietly carrying on with ideas for Reader's Digest, People Magazine, and other ideas. Things are getting interesting! Marsha , MS
