Guest guest
I purchased Brewer's Yeast for the first time today to ensure I am getting enough B vitamins and trace minerals. The brand is TwinLabs and it looked like the best yeast product after I analyzed several labels at the store. It's grown on organic grains so I doubt this particular product is residue from beer manufacturing. The only problem with the yeast is the taste... blech. I mixed a tablespoon with a cup of claravale milk and could barely get it down, much as I love the milk. Anyone have suggestions about how to eat nutritional yeast? Does cooking with it lower the vitamin content? I plan to try it in yogurt but don't think I'll be eating yogurt every day. Oatmeal isn't an option as I'm mostly gluten-free these days. Maybe lemon juice? I suppose sugar would mask the taste but I'm trying to avoid sugar, even fruit. Any other ideas? Also, any news on Claravale? I wasn't able to get through to them. The dairy person at Rainbow Grocery in SanFran said the product was delayed but she hadn't heard anything about them pasteurizing it. Thanks, Daphne
