Sylvia,

I have RA, and have wondered about the pregnancy thing. My Mom hated milk

and

milk stuff. That was the only way to get calcium when she was preg. with me.

I was

born with a smaller rib cage and clavicle on the right side which our family

Dr. at the time attributed to her not getting enough calcium during her

pregnancy. I also had a

grandmother (her mother) who had severe RA. My own sister has been diagnosed

recently with Ra as well. We are not sure how much is genetic and how much

may have been nutrition.

I've got some piima cream that is approaching 4 months old. It was made

from pasteurized cream. It has a strong, sharp salty/sour smell, and

some whey on top, but doesn't look bad or smell rancid. Can I use it?

I guess no one knows. If it tastes okay, I'd say go

ahead and use it, but maybe just a test at first, like

a teaspoon or so, and wait a day to make sure you

don't get bad results. I mean, it's essentially a

kind of cheese, and cheese keeps a long time.
