Well, I haven't lost any weight..in fact, gained 10 lbs. Considering I'd like to lose 60 lbs., 10 is a lot! Not too happy about it. Now my " times-a-week " has gone down...last week it was 2, and this week, I did the instructional video for 1/2 an hour for a change of pace. Just not that motivated to do it. I'm new here, and any ideas would really help! Thanks! >> Hi and welcome!! The first question that came to my mind is how is your diet? Are you drinking water? I need to start doing that myself. I know how hard it is to stay motivated especially when you aren't seeing any results. Hopefully this group can help you out. About the 10 pounds, some of that could be muscle. Have you noticed yourself looking more toned? Please tell us all a little bit more about your diet and exercise history and we can make some suggestions. Welcome to the group!! I didn't lose weight then either...just toned up some. I'm surprised (pleasantly) that I got a response so fast on here...I've never been on these boards, and usually have to wait for a long time to get any kind of answer. >> Hey, What is your name by the way? You will get responses fast here. That is what I love most about this group! Expect even more in the morning! I think I am the only one up at 3 am!! It sounds like you may have to work on the diet. Is there any way you could meet with a nutritionist to examine your diet? One thing I can suggest is that for a week you write down every bite of food that goes into your mouth. I did this awhile back and was shocked when I realized how many calories I was actually taking it! I never counted that handful of M & M's or the couple of bites I would take while cooking... I read that a person could take in an entire meal's worth of calories just by tasting while cooking and nibbling while cleaning up after a meal. It sounds like you have a good work out schedule. Maybe it is just your diet that need tweaking. It is very normal to get discouraged. It is so important to have a good support system. I have found that support here. I hope you do too. I just want to add that I have lost 65 pounds and it has taken me 2 years to do it. Weight loss is a very slow process, but it is possible. You can do it!!! If I can ANYONE can! I really mean that. You can do it! I hope we can all offer you the support you need!!

I'm new here, and any ideas would really help! Welcome to the group!!! I'm sorry you haven't seen better results...but stick with it and I promise you will definitely start to see something. Remember, tae-bo is not the magic thing that will make you lose weight...it has to be a combination of eating well and exercising. I know on the tae-bo boards, there are a lot of people who haven't seen any weight loss, but notice changes on the inside. Try not to focus on the weight for a month or so...(I know this will be hard to do), but really commit to tae-bo...maybe do a 21DC to make tae-bo a habit and a permanent part of your life. Focus on your form in the workouts, really concentrate when you are doing the moves. I think you will definitely notice that you get stronger, both mentally and physically. Even if you are not seeing the immediate results on the outside, feel proud of yourself that you are making a commitment to something and sticking with it. Try to notice the subtle changes in your body...are you starting to feel muscles that you didn't have before? Can you go longer in the tapes without taking a break? Are you getting more fit? Although your diet will have to change in combination with tae-bo for you to see weight loss, I think that there are lots of things tae-bo can give you other than the primary goal of weight loss. These changes start almost immediately (at least they did with me)... I had more confidence...I held my head a little higher...I was proud of my body. It takes a little longer for some people to see the physical results, but hang in there....I think you will definitely notice some things starting to change for the better. Again, welcome to the group. Feel free to share some more about yourself. What do you struggle with? How is your diet? Don't be shy...we're full of suggestions here and I'm sure someone will have something to say that can help you.

Tae-Bo will give you alot of benefits that can't be measured with a scale or tape..but are equally as important. Try to focus on those things...and the rest will follow. Take your body measurments with a metal tape measure..the cloth ones stretch after time. Write them down..put them in a safe place and forget about them for the time being. Increase your workouts to at least 4 times a week..3 times is more for maintence. There isn't anything wrong with going back to the instructional once in a while...good form will give you the best results. If you have doubts about your form 's book is a must have. I have been Tae-bo-ing for 9 months and learn something new everytime I read the book. The 10 pounds could be muscle gain.. this is a good thing because muscle burns calories, even at rest. Muscle weighs more than fat, but takes up less space so once the excess fat is gone, you will likely find that you weigh more but are fitting into smaller sizes. Take a good look at what your caloric intake is, and see if you can make better choices in the foods you eat. To lose weight, you need to take in fewer calories than what you are using, but be practical about it..you do not have to starve to lose weight..plus you want to give your body what it needs to build muscle. Make choices that you can live with, without feeling deprived. Concentrate on the workout itself, how your body is moving, and if you are working out at your proper intensity. The weight loss will take care of itself. That is the tough part, because most people are doing Tae-Bo for the weight loss, and want to see the results. You might want to accept the 21 day challenge that a group of people here are going to start. You will get alot of support in doing this. To be honest, when I first started, and read this advice at the other board...I thought..now there is a sales pitch! 9 months, 40 some pounds, and alot of inches and clothes sizes later I can say...Tae_Bo works..if you will. I hope this helps, and am looking forward to following your progress. I'm sure I left alot of things out, but you will get good advice and alot of responses from your post, so collectively I know you will find something here that will help you. Just push play! >
