Designers can use this tool to model new buildings and determine energy performance relative to the Model National Energy Code for Buildings (MNECB). If the simulated energy performance exceeds the MNECB by at least 25 percent, you can submit it to NRCan for validation of new building designs as of January 1, 2008.
