EE4 Version 1.7 and Validation of New Building DesignsNatural Resources Canada (NRCan) launched the latest version of the EE4 software on February 4, 2008. Designers can use this tool to model new buildings and determine energy performance relative to the Model National Energy Code for Buildings (MNECB). If the simulated energy performance exceeds the MNECB by at least 25 percent, you can submit it to NRCan for validation of new building designs as of January 1, 2008. You can also access modelling assistance and information on EE4 training at this Web site. To download the free software, visit the EE4 Software Web site.

ecoENERGY Retrofit: Third Call for Proposals for the Buildings IncentiveThe Third Call for Proposals of the commercial/institutional buildings component of ecoENERGY Retrofit – Small and Medium Organizations runs from February 5, 2008 to March 31, 2008. You can submit a proposal any time during this period, and we will start the review and approval process immediately. Before you apply, you need to carefully review the latest versions of the application guide and forms (updated February 5, 2008). You can also find a useful summary of policy and program changes since the last Call for Proposals at the updates page.
