was mis dx'd for years before they finally discovered ICH

after a fall he had taken. I couldn't find much on his case, but

here's a reference on a message board to him and info on some of the

testing noted in the previous article. (I love , glad they

found his problem).

You're certainly getting a run around. If you have any type head

trauma from a fall like Clooney or from surgery &

later you get dull or bad headaches along w/ a clear nasal

drip, it's usually a CSF leak. You need to push a Neurologist

to order the proper tests. A lumbar puncture hurts but it's

quick. There is a injected dye test while under a scan that can

help detect a leak & where. Many times the leak isn't in the

place of trauma. A kink can happen in the spinal fluid path

that surrounds your brain & travels back down neck to tail

bone. Clooney took a fall & it took many tests before they

found the leaks. They found them in his spine, even though he

hit his head. CSF fluid replaces itself aprx. 3X day. It can

get trapped from inflammation & form a leak. The nasal fluid

can be tested for 'bete-ferrin or terrin' I can't remember now,

but it can be collected in a steril container dripped into &

sent to lab. Even your Dr. can send this to lab after getting

instructions not to contaminate. This would be my first choice

before a puncture but will have to be done later. Sometimes

Diomox (diurectic) is a trial to lesson fluid production.

I think there was a pressure problem happened during your head

surgery & nothing the Dr. did could hve prevented it. They

can try patches to seal once they find. I think you need a

Dr. that will consider the nasal fluid test. They can also test

this fluid from doing a small opening of your eardrum but the nose

is the best. Good luck.
