Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to update everyone on Reece's progress:

Started Reece on Ginko 9/22/08

Started Reece on Prozac 11/13/08

Reece has been making huge gains. His teachers and

therapists are amazed at his progress. Reece took his first steps

Nov. 22nd!!!! Utube attached! One of the biggest things

we noticed (besides his motor skills) is that he looks more alert.

Reece is now trying to figure out how things work, he's vocalizing more

than he ever has, and as you can see...definately more mobile. Reece

has been nonambulatory for 3 years. Now, all he wants to do is walk

around. Yes, he is wearing me out and I am loving every minute of

it!!!

Judy,

Can you clarify a few statements that you made? You said that Reece

had been nonambulatory for 3 years. What was Reece doing prior to

starting the GB? Was he progressing with gross motor skills at all

or was he at a complete standstill? Was he crawling, etc? I think

that your story is incredibly interesting.

He was progressing but slowly. He wasn't crawling but doing a scooting thing. We had his knees checked twice to make sure there wasn't anything physically keeping him from crawling or walking. Everything checked out fine. We have a walker for Reece and would put him in it throughout the day. You would have to stay with him because he was real wobbely and would sometimes fall. It seems like the ginko helped him with remembering patterns for walking and crawling. The prozac, however lit a fire under his butt. He is now getting around all by himself in his walker and is practically running. He's cruising furniture too! As far as crawling, he is getting on all fours and doing a bunny hop sort of movement.
