Joanne - Do you and your husband look alike? Someone pointed out, on my

wedding day of all days, that Larry looks like he could be my brother. It

gave me a very sick feeling in my stomach and irks me to this day. The

funny part is that we do have similarities. I'm of English/Irish decent and

he's all Irish. But like Catey and Will, my ancestors have been in the

States for ever and his are newcomers so I hope that means we're okay. I

guess their still trying to learn why pmg happens and in-breeding would be

an obvious one to blame it on. I still have no idea why got pmg but

luckily for me she's my last child so the question is not a hot one for us.

Even though there are siblings who both have pmg, it does seem very, very

rare. There are more that have siblings without a diagnosis. That's my

unprofessional, unscientific, gut-feeling response to the question of what

the chances are of having another effected child. It's an extremely

difficult decision to make but I'd say if you having a burning desire for

more kids take your chances, the odds are in your favor. Right, easy for me

to say - you can shoot me later, if I'm wrong.

(mom to - 18 months w/pmg)
