Guest guest
Abijana, It is so hard to tell who you are talking to...........I love your postingings .........they are so so knowledgeabele. I have a good friend that just found out about her cirrosis and they have already if she is drinking. She told them ni, but I know that she is having a small bottle every night. Won't they wind this our when they do the blood work - . I told her they would find everything and would not be eligible for transplant. Was I wrong? Guest guest
I know some people who are accused of drinking, but they didnt. Ardis was in deep denial, and though she admitted to drinking moderately, they just told her that she would have to be sober for 6 months before getting a transplant. I believe 6 months sober is pretty standard. HOWEVER- I do know a story , extraordinary though it is, of a woman who was very sick, unconscious, and in ICU, and had not even tried to stop drinking, and a liver became available to her, and the transplant surgeons approached the daughter, and told her that her mom could have the liver, and the mom wrote to the support group I once belonged to and asked every one what would they do if faced with the same dilemma? She felt that her mom didnt deserve the liver, but time was a factor, and they couldn't ship that liver out in time for someone else, and they were making a one time only offer to her mom. So strange things happen, and every rule can be broken. If the doctors believe she is drinking, then it wouldn't matter if she is sober, and visa/versa, if they believe she is sober, I believe that blood tests would betray her eventually. long life, old age, everything good-Apache prayer ________________________________ To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Saturday, December 20, 2008 12:19:41 PM Subject: Re: Adjana Thanks Abijana, It is so hard to tell who you are talking to.......... .I love your postingings .........they are so so knowledgeabele.
