Guest guest
Hi Vicky, I'm not suggesting anything at all. The last thing I would want to do it to upset . You reminded me of part of Edith's backstory. I gave her CLO from birth -- then around 5 I stopped (I can't remember why now) and maybe 2 years later, restarted it. I only gave her half a teaspoonful -- she had the most terrible day, I still remember nearly all of it. I can't go into parts of London without vivid memories of crying and screaming flooding back. I put it down to the CLO and didn't give it again for ages. Then (maybe around 8) after my brother's anti-inflammatory drug she was doing so much better that I decided to give the CLO again, as an experiment, because, like you, I know it's good for you and her. This time, fine, no problems, generally good. So I'm not saying -- give it. It would make sense that he hasn't had any Omega 3 for ages because the veg based EFA probably didn't get metabolised into HUFA (highly unsaturated fatty acid). He probably didn't get any benefit from the veg caps but also didn't set off the triggers. In her book, says supplement directly with EPA and DHA which are the hard to make HUFAs made from Omega 3 EFA. Research since then suggests that EPA is the important bit and your body should be able to make DHA if it wants it from the EPA. All of which is no good if it makes break the walls down. Does he go berserk straight away (like Edith see above) or does it take a short while? If it's straight away, I'll send you a couple of caps and you can try and know right away (if you can stand it). These are VegEPA caps and they are 500mg each, so they are quite a lot at a time. You might not want so much, might not like caps xx Sally MaddiganV@... wrote: > > , he does tend to pale stools, sometimes green[eats loads of > greens though] Taurine has been pretty constant supplement for years, > it really helps him with his jerking and barking[i now think these are > tics], very calming for him, but no improvement in stool colour. > I used to give him L Glutamine for stools, which was absolutely > brilliant, fabadoozy for his gut in general and very quick results, > unfortunately it also drove him wild behaviorally, big rages, crazy, > off the wall, so had to stop completely. > He doesn't take B3,6 or C again he has reacted to them in the past, > but he gets loads of C in his veggies and limited fruit, only the > supplemented C is a problem. > He isn't vegetarian as such, he just loves veg, will scoop up any > amounts of any veg except potatoes and is pretty full by the time he > gets to the chicken, we only eat chicken at home, red meat isn't much > liked, no other reason than personal taste. > Glynis we haven't seen the gastro for years now as she was pretty > clueless, having said that his paed and gastro are very good at > prescribing whatever I ask, so maybe I should see her again mentioning > the meds you are using for reflux. > Sally what would you suggest I get for for Omega 3? > Also when I was researching 's OCD I came across loads of > adults who could not take fish oils for similar problems I see with > .
