Hi all, My letter is a bit different to the previous one that was

posted on this forum. It was addressed to my referring doctor.

Date November 25, 2008.

Dear ___________

Thank you for your interest in the Undiagnosed Diseases Program (UDP)

at the NIH. We appreciate the opportunity to review the medical

history of your patient, ___________________.

Several researchers involved with the UDP are very interested in soft

sound sensitivity and are currently considering investigating this

problem. As with any scientific investigation, careful and extensive

planning must occur prior to implementation of a research study. We

anticipate being able to determine whether such a study will be

feasible in approximately six (6) months.

We acknowledge your interest and will contact you and your patient

when we are able to provide more specifics about the possibility of an

NIH study. Additional inquiries can be sent to soundsensitivity at

nidcd.nih.gov.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to consult with the NIH on

your patient. We appreciate your commitment to providing the best

possible care for your patients in ways that help advance medial

knowledge and discovery.

Sincerely,

A. Gahl, MD, PhD

Director, NIH Undiagnosed Diseases Program

CC. Carmen Brewer, M.D.

CC. Me.
