Guest guest
Dear Janessa I loved your mail and honesty to tell what you think. I used to play hockey for my college, and used to think the same. But I never told what I used to think.( Now I am in my fifties). I have started tennis few months back only and even now, in bed I visualize myself making certain shots. It always happens. Later on I come to realize what psychologist says. In sports psychology they say- sports man should visualize himself doing certain required action. That way one is consciously train their brain to facilitate the neuromuscular action. You can say in a way 'now brain knows which muscle to work in what way'. By repeated visualization neuromuscular system is facilitated for that movement which you should do in the field. In the last I would like to say it's not the competitiveness but self improvement- a pursuit for excellence. If you do something you should be good in it. Keep it up. Best of luck.
