Guest guest
Has anyone heard or tried Auditory integration training? A friend of mine just read a book about a teenager who had sensitive hearing and she went to Guy Berard, a French otolaryngologist, who has developed AIT. It treats auditory processing problems. He says that abnormal auditory processing results when there is discrepancies in how well someone hears different sound frequencies. For example, a person may be hypersensitive to the frequencies 2,000 and 8,000 Hertz, but hear all the other frequencies normally. Berard developed Auditory Integration Training as a way to reduce sensitivity to specific sound frequencies. Apparently there is a doctor near me that was trained by Dr. Berard and does this. Also, my friend says that her sister's friend is taking her daughter there, although I'm not sure exactly what her problem is--I'm hopefully going to get that info soon. I will let you know when I find out more. Kathy Howe
