Guest guest
Thank you so much for posting this. It really makes you realize that we spend so much time wishing we were in someone elses shoes yet their shoes may not fit so well either. I guess we need to be grateful for what we have and the fact that it could be so much worse. I often have wished to be deaf, but the sounds I do love like music, and thunderstorms, and the ocean, etc... I would truly miss. > > In the mornings I go to the dog park and this week I saw a man with an > adorable little dog that was playing with my dog. Guest guest
Well here's a really weird one! I've recently started seeing someone who I started chatting to on an internet messageboard (4S has left my dating 'on hold' for years). Turns out she is half deaf and has to wear hearing aids. In a way this should mean that it just wouldn't work - but we both recognise that these are real issues that the other faces and are probably more tolerant as a result! Very strange. I told him that I would love to take his ears for a day as well. We talked for almost two hours and I learned so much... he taught me how to read body language becasuse I have trouble modulating my voice with my earplugs in. Also, I dream of being deaf or hard of hearing but he really showed me that it is extremely difficult and what a struggle it is to connect with others. In the end we both decided to just wish for normal hearing! We are going to meet up again. Even though are problems are opposite we sure have a lot in common.
