Guest guest
Hmmm i wonder why there is al these secrets, maybe he is onto something big and wants to go down as the cure for minsophonia.... I doubt it tho. I will take the survey later tonight. Thanks for the link R From: Soundsensitivity [mailto:Soundsensitivity ] On Behalf Of Darlene Sent: Monday, 22 December 2008 3:04 PM To: Soundsensitivity Subject: Questionnaire Ok, I have NO idea what this is all about but I said I would mention it here because I honestly do feel a couple people on the hyperacusis board are " trying " to help with this problem. Perhaps Dr. has an idea as to what they are up to? Anyhow, they have devised a questionnaire for people with " misophonia " to take. Why? I don't know yet... he says when he has a bigger sample of results he will tell me. So, if you want to head on over and take the survey, feel free. If you'd rather not register there but still want to take it, just e-mail me your results (the total number) and I will post it there. Here is the link to the thread with the questionnaire... http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/danmalcore/vpost?id=3180213 If that doesn't work go to this link http://www.hyperacusis.net/ and look on the left side for 'Join our message board'. Then click on " new messages " . Then look for the thread tilted " To Darlene, Sumari, Ingid, others - Questionnaire " Again, I have no idea what this is about but I am participating just for kicks and giggles. Guest guest
Not sure what he's going for with the questions as I haven't paid attention to that board for a long while, but my number seems crazy high. 101!
Guest guest
I suspect that he is trying to find a way of 'proving' that 4S = misophonia. I will do the survey, but to my mind it is a pointless exercise - 25 questions all summed up in one number is not a good way of researching this.> To: Soundsensitivity > Date: Mon, 22 Dec 2008 16:32:33 +0000> Subject: Re: Questionnaire> > Not sure what he's going for with the questions as I haven't paid> attention to that board for a long while, but my number seems crazy> high. 101!> > > ------------------------------------> > PLEASE BE AWARE THIS IS A STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL GROUP AND NO MESSAGES ARE TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE OUTSIDE OF THE YAHOO GROUP MEMBERSHIP SITE OR REPRODUCED OR COPIED AND MAILED FOR ANY PURPOSE. > > ALSO DO NOT SHARE MEMBER EMAIL ADDRESSES OR NAMES WITH ANYONE.> Thank you. Guest guest
... I have the same suspicion as you do. Basically because that's been the whole arguement over there. It's still not going to fix the problem. I suspect that he is trying to find a way of 'proving' that 4S = misophonia. I will do the survey, but to my mind it is a pointless exercise - 25 questions all summed up in one number is not a good way of researching this. Guest guest
I was wondering what those questions could prove. Some are repeated, and most are vague and can't simply be answered by a number. Eh, if that's his aim, he should design a better questionnaire > I suspect that he is trying to find a way of 'proving' that 4S = > misophonia. I will do the survey, but to my mind it is a pointless > exercise - 25 questions all summed up in one number is not a good way > of researching this. >
Guest guest
He has acknowledged the weaknesses in his set of questions but hasn't retracted or changed anything. Huh. I really don't see how adding up numbers can produce any significant results... especially when a few of the questions are polar opposites of each other. Guest guest
I've just seen that response - already produced a meaningful response? I cannot believe that (unless it was to sift out those who believe they have 4S rather than misophonia!)> To: Soundsensitivity > Date: Mon, 22 Dec 2008 19:38:19 +0000> Subject: Re: Questionnaire> > He has acknowledged the weaknesses in his set of questions but hasn't> retracted or changed anything. Guest guest
Another thing is that a lot of the questions that deal with " fear " of sound is dealing with phonophobia. Adding up all the numbers without knowing which questions we answered with a high or low number is sort of a strange way of doing it. Hmmmmmm I guess we'll find out. > > He has acknowledged the weaknesses in his set of questions but hasn't > retracted or changed anything.
