California Health Freedom

I would like to let people on our list, especially those in

California, know about an important cause - the

freedom of each person to choose the medical treatment of their

choice

- HEALTH FREEDOM.

Most people don't realize that nearly every state in the union is

governed by draconian laws that limit ANY form of treatment or

diagnosis of ANY kind of ailment to licensed medical practitioners.

As a result, a great number of California's alternative healing

practitioners may be technically violating our state's Medical

Practices acts. This includes many practitioners of popular healing

alternatives such as massage, homeopathy, ayurveda, naturopathy,

reiki, craniosacral therapy, herbalism, and others.

You may ask - why hasn't this been a problem so far? Basically,

there

just haven't been sufficient funds to prosecute alternative

practitioners. But recently, new funds have been appropriated for

just this purpose in California, and there are beginning to be

efforts

to close down herbalists in places like Chinatown and elsewhere.

The California Health Freedom Coalition (CHFC) is California's answer

to a new nationwide effort to pass Health Freedom legislation. For

example, last year, Minnesota passed legislation that allowed

alternative unlicensed practitioners to practice safely and legally.

In California, our legislative approach is simple: anyone who does

not perform a listed set of potentially dangerous practices should

not

be considered in violation of the Medical Practice acts.

The CHFC is sponsoring a bill, SB577, authored by California Senator

Burton, and we need your show of support now! If you are

concerned about this, lease take just

a few minutes of your time to visit the CHFC web site and sign up:

http://www.californiahealthfreedom.org

While contributions are welcome, what the CHFC really needs right now

is your name. By filling in the CHFC membership form, you will

demonstrate to the powerful medical establishment that California

citizens want the freedom to choose whatever kind of medical

treatment

they desire.
